Prominent comedian Mujtaba Hussain's death, a wave of mourning in the literary world Mumbai: May 27 (Noorul Salam NadviBNS) Prominent Urdu comedian Mujtaba Hussain passed away this morning in Hyderabad. Ana Allah Wana Ilya Rajaun, he was over 80 years old. Mujtaba Hussain was born on July 15, 1936 in Gulberga. Early education took place at home. He graduated from Ottoman University in 1956. From a young age, he had a taste for satirical and humorous writings, for the fulfillment of which he became involved in daily politics and from there his literary journey began. Started working in Information Department in 1962. In 1972, he joined the research department of the Gujral Committee in Delhi. He retired in 1992 after working in various departments in Delhi. Mujtaba Hussain is the country's first satirist to be awarded the prestigious civilian honor of Padma Shri by the federal government as a comedian. More than 22 books on Mujtaba Hussain's articles have been published. His 7 books were published in Hindi. One book each was published in Japanese and Oriya. He has received more than 10 awards including Ghalib Award, Makhdoom Award, Kanwar Mahendra Singh Bedi Award, Johar Qureshi Award and Mir Taqi Mir Award. In recognition of his long service, Gulberga University of Karnataka awarded him an honorary doctorate in 2010.
